As a student in our Medical Administrative Assistant program, you will gain a strong background in medical office skills, business communications, customer service, electronic health records, and medical coding and billing. This combination of skills prepares you for a challenging and successful career. As part of this program, you will complete a 150-hour internship in a medical office that will allow you to apply classroom learning in an office setting.
Upon completion of this two-year career program, you will be eligible to take the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam offered by the as well as the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam offered by the (AAPC).
The Medical Administrative Assistant program at ACM is designated as a Health Manpower Shortage Program by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC).
